Romantic Scenes and Show Playful Chemistry on Set video has been released for “Youth of May”!
The making-of video begins with Go Min Si, Heo Jung Do, and Park Se Hyun trying to carry Lee Do Hyun in a scene where his character Hee Tae has fallen asleep drunk. Go Min Si mouths at the camera, “He’s heavy,” and Lee Do Hyun jokes, “I didn’t even eat breakfast, and I went to the bathroom. [There’s no way] I’m heavy…”
The KBS romance drama is about medical student Hwang Hee Tae (Lee Do Hyun) and nurse Kim Myung Hee (Go Min Si), who fall in love amidst the whirlwind of events that take place in May 1980—a historically significant time period in South Korea.
Geum Sae Rok and Lee Do Hyun begin playing with the prop candles, trying to blow them out with their fists. They appear shocked when Lee Do Hyun succeeds and hurriedly resolve the situation by lighting the candle again.
Lee Do Hyun then shows off his double chin while lying on the ground, and Go Min Si covers for him while saying, “[The cameraman] is filming your double chin.” Lee Do Hyun replies, “I’m okay with that,” as he folds his chin further.
The clip then continues with the actors gathered for the engagement ceremony of Hwang Hee Tae and Lee Soo Ryun (Geum Sae Rok). Geum Sae Rok shows her ballet skills, and Lee Sang Yi suggests that she try bodybuilding, standing up and shrugging his shoulders up to show his example.
The two actors also go on to film their first kiss scene. Lee Do Hyun playfully squeezes Go Min Si’s face, and she responds while laughing, “You have to hold my face naturally.” Before filming, Lee Do Hyun sweetly asks, “Is it not uncomfortable for you because I’m bent over so much? Is it okay for you?” Although they joke around like friends in between takes, they immediately get into character once filming begins, showing their perfect romantic chemistry.
Next, filming continues outdoors as Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si film a scene in which their characters run away together. They appear exhausted as they run over and over again. When told to run more, Go Min Si says, “I thought it was over,” while Lee Do Hyun falls to the ground.
The video ends with footage of Lee Do Hyun giving a glimpse of his piano skills.
