Popular French comedy-drama Call My Agent! has signed a formal copyright contract by Studio Dragon for Korean Drama Series!
Call My Agent centers on celebrity management and follows four talented agents who struggle to balance their personal and professional lives, which oftentimes come into conflict due to the nature of their jobs. The drama, which first aired in 2015 and enjoyed nationwide popularity, has four seasons and is confirmed to return for its fifth installment. Reports shared that the drama is also set to get remakes in many other parts of the world, including Canada, Turkey, India, China, and the UK.
Call My Agent! will reportedly make use of the original drama’s strengths and fun points but will feature a story that will fit Korea’s domestic situation and sentiment. Moreover, due to the plot set inside the show business, the remake is expected to feature star-studded cameos that will brighten up the drama.
Alexandre René, a representative of TF1 Studio in France, said, “We are happy to collaborate with Studio Dragon for the remake of Call My Agent!” TF1 Studio and France TV Distribution previously acquired rights for the original drama via a deal with creators Mon Voisin Productions and Mother Productions.
Studio Dragon’s content producer Yoo Sang-won said, “We purchased the original work because the characters and stories are really attractive. The script is currently working smoothly, and the casting is also scheduled to begin soon. This well-made drama will be released soon.”
