Big Hit Entertainment recently held their briefing session and revealed major announcements including KPOP music new groups and new BTS content.

The giant company executives announced on February 4 that they are planning to debut a new boy group in 2022. This band is definitely the one to watch out for in the KPOP music industry.

Additionally, a new girl group is also on its way towards the end of [2022]. The announcement is made by Source Music CEO So Sung Jin. The girl group being shaped will be a collaboration with Big Hit Entertainment’s Chief Brand Officer Min Hee Jin. They say the girl group is set to debut and hit KPOP music by [2022].

Source Music So Sung Jin also talked about the hit group who just made their debut comeback named GFRIEND. The company rose in the direction of turning the music company into a number one label for girl groups.

BTS, Big Hit Entertainment’s biggest group, recently won a total of 81 awards from 22 different award shows. The company also announced that BTS will be having their own world tour anytime soon.

BTS is also preparing their new album Map of the Soul:7 which will be released some time this month. Tomorrow X Together, the second most successful group after BTS, also revealed that they are preparing for their new album while the girl group GFriend just released their album entitled labyrinth EP earlier this week.

According to BELIFT Vice President Choi Yoon Hyuk, their partnership with Big Hit Entertainment and CJ ENM made way for creating K-pop mainstream into K-pop coaching system that offers market worldwide. In addition, he introduced the company’s plan to debut a multinational boy group this [2022] as the company’s first undertaking as one of their targets.

Big Hit Entertainment has increasingly reached global record labels and agency homes since the start of their artists such as BTS and Tomorrow X Together. They also shared how they prepared their recent years to establish their company as a multi-label and multi business company in the world of KPOP music. Some of the company’s biggest moves were to acquire the Source Music labe; which is home to the well-known K-pop group GFriend. The company also mademajor move when they joined forces with CJ ENM called BELIFT, one of South Korea’s entertainment powerhouse. In [2022] alone, the company’s revenue nearly doubles their music sales from $254 million in 2018. Big Hit Entertainment reportedly earned a revenue of $494.6 million and had an operating profit of $82 million.

The company CEO of Business Kim Dong Jun mentioned that their expansion of performances, album distribution, partnerships with other music companies and diversification of each performance allowed their company to have continuous growth.

For instance, BTS fans can now watch their favorite boy group’s concert in different ways. This diversification allows more and more BTs fans to watch their contents online, in movie theaters and not just in actual physical attendees for the group’s tour dates.

Big Hit entertainment promises to continue their efforts in creating new methodologies in the music industry.

It is confirmed! Top Media just released an official announcement on February 5 that they will be releasing a solo album for Kim Wooseok in the first half of [2022].

In addition, Top Media also announced that Kim Wooseok will be opening his solo VLIVE channel this February 6 at 6pm and the channel will be used mainly for active communication with his fans.

Top Media also postponed Kim Wooseok’s fan meeting in light with the recent global scare caused by Coronavirus. The company stated that further details will be announced once everything has been decided.

Kim Wooseok came from the boy group X1 who recently announced their disbandment. Their group announced that their members and agencies made a negotiation under unanimous agreement. However, they could not come up to an agreement, which led to their disbandment.

Meanwhile, IZ*ONE is finally gearing up for her return. Mnet released on February 5 a teaser of IZ*ONE’s comeback show for BLOOM*IZ, the girl group’s first studio album.

IZ*ONE’s album was originally scheduled to be released last year on November 11. However, the album was postponed due to a controversy involving a voting manipulation in the series “Produce 101”.

Their album will now be released this February 17 at 6pm KST. They will have a comeback show which will air on the same day at 8pm. The show will also broadcast online via Facebook and Youtube under Mnet, M2 and Stone Music Entertainment.

Another Music KPOP artist is set to transform into a trot singer. Actor Lee Yi Kyung announced on February 3 that he will be releasing a trot song. A trot song is a genre in Korean music that uses repetitive rhythm and vocal infections. It is one of Korea’s oldest forms of pop music. Actor Lee Yi Kyung will deliver a unique and fresh energy in music by expressing himself through the use of a trot song. Fans can now look forward to the new trot singer Lee Yi Kyung.
