Shin Hyun-been might team up with Song Joong-ki in an upcoming drama!
According to entertainment industry sources, the young actress is being courted to headline the drama The Chaebol’s Youngest Son, which is based on a web novel of the same name with over 24 million views. Shin’s agency Yooborn Company has confirmed that the actress is reviewing the offer.
Song Joong-ki (Vincenzo) is being courted to play the lead, along with Lee Sung-min (Money Game).
Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son is a revenge drama revolving around Yoon Hyun-woo, a man who faithfully serves a chaebol family for over a decade but ends up being betrayed. He gets framed for embezzling funds and is killed by them. In his second life, he is reborn as the youngest son of the same family, Jin Do-joon, and concocts a plan to take over their wealth, dedicating his second life to revenge.
Shin Hyun-been has been offered the role of an anti-corruption prosecutor at the Seoul District Prosecutor’s Office. Her character comes from a line of top law school graduates for generations and does not shy away from breaking laws in order for justice to be served. She and Do-joon will have a complicated relationship bordering on love and hate.
Shin Hyun-bin is best known for starring in dramas Mistress (2018), Confession (2019), and Hospital Playlist (2020–present). She is set to romance Yoo Yoon-seok in the second season of Hospital Playlist, starting June 17. She has also been cast in the upcoming series A Person Who Looks Like You (literal title) alongside Go Hyun-jung.
The Chaebol’s Youngest Son, also known as Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son, will be penned by Kim Tae-hee, who wrote Designated Survivor: 60 Days (2019), while Jung Dae-yoon of W – Two Worlds (2016) and I’m Not a Robot (2017–2018) will serve as director.
The show is currently under discussion to be broadcast on JTBC and is aiming to air in the second half of next year. Filming is supposed to begin as soon as casting is complete.
